Gerber file checker for macOS
Inspect the handoff.
Know what reaches the board house.
Open a Gerber and Excellon delivery folder, reconcile every layer role, inspect composite geometry and export only reviewed source copies before the manufacturing upload.
Inside the actual app
The manufacturing set stays explainable.
The native app lists every real source and assignment confidence on the left, draws parsed Gerber and drill geometry in the center and keeps missing layers, outline problems and the DFM boundary visible on the right.
Built for the real handoff
One focused app.
Four jobs done.
Solo PCB designers
Catch a missing mask or drill file before the board-house upload dialog.
Hardware startups
Keep an explainable reviewed bundle beside every prototype order.
Fabrication handoffs
Separate package completeness from the fabricator's final DFM decision.
Revision QA
Confirm that the intended layer set and board outline remain coherent across exports.

From first record
to finished handoff.
Open the fabrication folder
Load local Gerber and Excellon files, hash the bundle and parse units, apertures, polarity, geometry and drill tools.
Reconcile every role
Review X2 metadata, extensions and filename inference, then correct ambiguous copper, mask, silkscreen, outline or drill assignments.
Export the reviewed handoff
Inspect package findings and composite bounds, then export reviewed source copies, a ZIP, JSON and Markdown receipts and a checksum manifest.
Focused by design
Useful depth.
No account clutter.
Layer-role reconciliation
Prefer X2 metadata, fall back visibly to extensions or filenames and support explicit manual correction.
Bundle completeness
Catch missing or duplicate copper, solder mask, silkscreen, outline and drill roles before upload.
Composite visual proof
Toggle parsed layers and inspect draws, flashes and drill hits against the actual board outline.
Units and bounds evidence
Normalize coordinates to millimeters while flagging mixed units, polarity conflicts and geometry outside the board.
Reviewed-source export
Create a ZIP from source copies only, with unresolved findings and hashes attached to the manufacturing receipt.
Practical guides
Start with the job
you need to finish.

GerberProof FAQ
Which PCB files can GerberProof open?+
The current MVP reads Gerber RS-274X and X2 manufacturing layers plus Excellon drill files from a local folder.
How are layer roles assigned?+
GerberProof prefers X2 file-function metadata, then common extensions and filenames. The source and confidence remain visible, and you can correct an assignment manually.
What bundle problems does it flag?+
It reports missing required roles, duplicates, unknown or low-confidence layers, mixed units or polarity, geometry outside the outline and drill hits beyond the board boundary.
Does a clean result guarantee manufacturability?+
No. Bundle completeness and visible geometry do not replace electrical-rule checks, process constraints or the board house's DFM review.
Does it repair or regenerate Gerber files?+
No. GerberProof does not edit PCB layouts, autoroute, silently repair geometry or generate manufacturing layers.
Do my board files upload anywhere?+
No. Parsing, layer reconciliation, composite preview and reviewed-source export run locally in the current Release build.
How much will GerberProof cost?+
The price is US$39 as a one-time purchase for one Mac, with no subscription. Secure checkout and DMG delivery are handled by Polar.
